Desperately waiting for life-saving medications; this is the fate of many Iranian patients, whose lives are at stake due to the shortage of medicines resulting from the unilateral sanctions by the US and European Union against Iran over its civilian nuclear energy program.
Although the West’s sanctions do not directly ban the sales of medicines to Iran, they block every financial route needed to obtain drugs for patients suffering from diseases like diabetes, kidney failure, hemophilia, multiple sclerosis, thalassemia and leukemia.
